Hotel Quite Acceptable Los Angeles

09.08

#533, Hotel Quite Acceptable, Los Angeles.

The Crimbus arrived at the hotel around 08.15, and has now left us. It will not return on this tour. There is a particular poignancy that surrounds the ending of things: this time is past; it will never come again. The opportunities presented have gone, although the quality with which they were seized persists in its effects. The poignancy that I now feel is a very distant echo of the sense of ending that accompanied the deaths of my Parents.

The Crims had a very good meeting with Charlie on the Crimbus outside the hotel in San Francisco, between 00.15 & 1.10 this morning. Charlie answered all the questions that were not asked, and some that were. Info, for those UK enthusiasts who wonder why Crimson are not playing in England this year: the Glastonbury Festival turned us down. We are not cool enough for Glastonbury, it seems. Once this might have given me concern.

The Crimbus stopped around 06.00, somewhere between San Francisco & Los Angeles, for Jered the driver to take a break, and this change in the regularity of motion woke me from my first Crimbus anxiety dream: the bus had dropped us off & was driving away with my stuff on it!

Now the sun is shining & the sky is blue.

12.43

Well, after a walk around, to bed at noon and up at 12.30. Best commit myself to enter the day, then. A guitar waits to be practised upon.
